Pre Sales Engineer

Qualification & Experience Required:

  • Relevant Degree or Diploma (Minimum NQF6)
  • Telecoms & OEM training – specifically communication systems e.g.  Tetra, Hytera, DMR, Microwave transmission, IP, Broadband, Wi-Fi, IP Transmission
  • Experience in technology – specifically working in ICT sector
  • Min 5years experience in radio technology (Focus on Tetra and/or DMR) and broadband technologies
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of RF and IP Solutions
  • Proven track record in developing and defining technical product specs
  • Experience in providing technical support and training for technical clients
  • Proven track record for team management will be an advantage
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Motorola Solutions will be an advantage

Responsibilities:

  • Work deals assigned to sales team supported, prioritizing effort based on maximizing total impact on team productivity and profit, or as directed by the sales manager
  • Proactively scopes the technical solution required to address customer requirements, assesses customers met and unmet needs, and recommends solutions that optimize value for both the customer and the firm
  • Secures input from all necessary solutions stakeholders within the customer firm
  • Adapts solutions, as necessary, to ensure appropriate support
  • Coordinates closely with internal sales, sales support, and service resources from customer technical staff commitments needed to ensure a deals technical close
  • Meets assigned targets from profitably sales growth in assigned products lines, market areas, channel, or teams support
  • Provides coaching and professional development to team member sales associates in order to enhance their product knowledge, technical acumen, and technical sales skills
  • Opportunistically pursues additional business development opportunities within customer firms, collaborates with sales to ensure the opportunities are effectively covered and advanced
  • Monitors customer support for technical solutions proposed throughout the sales process, and alerts the sales and account teams to potential risks of deal closure
  • Liaises and engages with external vendors, suppliers, outsourcing partners and clients
  • Attend technical training sessions for internal stakeholders
  • Identify complimentary products that add value to core product offerings based on market needs and technology evolution

  • Provide weekly dashboards on technical schedules and responsibilities
  • Comply with tender requirement and document solutions used in tender responses

Knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of the technology landscape Locally and Internationally
  • In-depth understanding of business rival and competitor products
  • Knowledge and understanding of Pre Sales, Bid Office and Contract management
  • Understanding the Regulatory and Legal landscape
