Marketing Manager: Intermediate Channel | IT Recruitment

Role Purpose:

  • In conjunction with business to develop and implement an integrated marketing and communication strategy that will drive profitable growth for the company Short-term Insurance intermediated channel (Tied agents, Independent Financial Advisers)
  • Provide input into and execute on campaigns and other communication initiatives to support the overall business objectives


Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum experience: 3 – 5 years related marketing management experience preferably in the Financial services and/or short-term insurance marketing and campaign management experience
  • Experience in partner driven or intermediated business model: Advantageous
  • Thorough knowledge of media and advertising industry across multiple marketing disciplines including digital
  • Solid marketing experience of B2B marketing and communication
  • Minimum qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing, Media studies, or similar


Responsibilities and work output:

  • Drive the company Short-term insurance’s value proposition in the intermediated channels focusing on all intermediated channels (Tied agents, Independent Financial Advisers, the company Financial Planners). To improve lead generation, conversion and overall productivity and penetration
  • In conjunction with business develop and implement a marketing strategy that enables profitable growth for the business
  • Unpack marketing strategies into tactical activity plans which supports the needs of intermediated channel and meet business objectives
  • Understanding and interpretation of market insights and business context to influence marketing strategy and communication plans for the intermediated channel
  • Regularly monitor and track marketing performance and implement strategies to address any performance gaps


Engage key business stakeholders in:

  • Review creative material to support advertising initiatives and drive development of new material with creative agencies


Stakeholder management:

  • Offer effective and consistent service delivery and support to the SSD team and all internal divisions


Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain good working relationships with SSD and other stakeholders:
  • External stakeholders – Clients


Manage agency relationships and delivery, including creative, media and PR agencies across digital and traditional channels

The company stakeholders:

  • Manage communication and campaign expectations with stakeholders
  • Keep stakeholders informed throughout projects



  • Develop and execute communication strategy for MSTI: Intermediary communication
  • Drive communication across the business through ensuring execution of the intermediated channel communication plan
  • Ensure staff, sales force and clients are updated on products and new developments in the Intermediated channel
  • Input into system-generated communication and mail house processes for brokers, partnership Brokers, strategic partners and Envoy and Priceless clients


Public relations:

  • Develop and execute PR strategy for MSTI intermediated channel
  • Write press releases and source content for editorials, advertorials and PR campaigns
  • Regularly measure the performance of PR plan and review accordingly



  • In conjunction with business develop that annual budget
  • Budget control and tracking of expenditure and reporting to business
  • Agency account reconciliations, when necessary



  • Compile monthly operational report – creative, media, PR and communications
  • Compile monthly above-the-line performance report for Steerco


Culture and people management:

  • Personal performance contract (aligned to the strategy) in place
  • Manage own growth by developing a Personal development plan with manager
