Role Purpose:

The Scrum Master will be helping software development teams apply the Scrum framework via Jira from Atlassian. Planning deliverables and helping teams monitor performance. Resolving issues that hinder the teams’ work

Educational Qualifications

  • Degree/ Diploma in Business Analysis
  • Deemed Industry Experience

Experience

  • 0 to 2 years’ experience in a scrum master role, focusing on delivering technology-driven solutions. End-to-end project involvement in delivery and accountability thereof would be advantageous.
  • Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement)
  • Worked in a multi-project environment.
  • Active involvement in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle
  • Knowledge and experience within the employee benefits or financial services environment are advantageous.

Knowledge

  • Sound knowledge of the System Development Lifecycle and methodologies
  • Strong understanding of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Understanding and experience with the Omni SunGard system are advantageous.

Responsibilities and work outputs

General Administration

  • Manage each project’s scope and timeline
  • Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings and daily stand-ups
  • Coach team members in Agile frameworks
  • Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration
  • Be the point of contact for external communications (e.g. from customers or stakeholders)
  • Work with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests
  • Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that occur
  • Help teams implement changes effectively
  • Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint
  • Guide development teams to higher scrum maturity
  • Help build a productive environment where team members ‘own’ the product and enjoy working on it
  • Adhere to company group policies.
  • Respond to and update support tickets and project-related tickets.
  • Submit timesheets daily

Financial management

  • Prepare and provide input to estimates for work orders/quotations.

Process

  • Adhere to SDLC processes and procedures.
  • Understands the requirements of Change Control.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 27001 principles, and other ISO’s as they are adopted

Supervision

  • May be responsible for staff supervision and mentoring.

Business and Systems requirement analysis

  • Liaises with a customer representative and acts as the consultant interface between the customer, developer, IT
  • Responsible for managing the production of business, system, and user documentation for the system at an enterprise level.

  • Actively participates in/hosts and minutes JAD sessions and workshops.
