IT Quality Assurance Analyst | IT Recruitment

Role Summary:

  • The IT Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for developing and executing test cases to ensure the quality of business implementations through the IT department.
  • These implementations include project applications, in-house written software and applications, external software and applications, and business functions delivered through external software (SaaS).
  • This position supports the Information Technology Department as well as Global Business Process Management and Compliance, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Operations, Sales, and other departments.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create test cases based on documented business and technical requirements. Test, implement and execute automated and manual test plans, conditions and scripts ensuring they are aligned with business functional and technical requirements.
  • Test applications and software to ensure proper operation, freedom from defects, optimum system performance, scalability, and load testing. Testing may also include functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing. Identify differences between
  • Document defects with detail, accuracy, and conscientiousness while adhering to the proper toolset and format requirements for such documentation.
  • Track, report and follow up on defects using appropriate toolsets. Participate in test case reviews with business systems analysts and development team.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, IT staff and business users to optimize testing, defect isolation and defect tracking. Communicate issues to appropriate development staff and assist in their resolution.
  • Define, develop, and implement quality assurance practices and procedures, test plans and other QA assessments, driving continuous improvement in the company testing, quality assurance and application development processes.
  • Maintain Test Script library and track/analyse performance test results.
  • Meet agreed-upon goals and objectives in a timely manner
  • Maintain and develop business knowledge and customer relationships

  • Advanced knowledge of software and web application development methodologies, life cycles and roles. Mobile application testing experience is a plus.
  • Basic to advanced knowledge and/or experience in Quality Assurance testing methodologies and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with defect management, tracking and reporting tools.
  • Good analytical aptitude with Problems solving approach, root cause identification skills, and critical thinking skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships, with proven strong interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations, and who can work well with both technical and non-technical resources.
  • Meet deadlines by providing accurate estimations and by mitigating risks
  • Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics
  • Problems solving approach, root cause identification skills, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Education and/or Experience

  • Ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the required skills.
  • A Master’s degree is a plus. Experience as a system / software trainer is a plus.

Language Skills

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.


Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
