Intermediate Systems Developer

The Intermediate .NET Developer is a highly motivated professional interested in working in a challenging, highly technical and collaborative environment. Forming part of a small agile team you will be required to


  • Development of software derived from Epics, Stories and Tasks

–       Timeous delivery

–       Quality tested code

  • Assessment of stories in sprint or Kanban planning

–       Impact analysis

–       Accurate estimations of story points

  • Integration testing

–       All dependencies are identified, managed and tested

  • Deployments

–       Ensure stable releases to Test and/or Live environments

  • System Documentation

–       Update documentation as changes occur including change control requirements

  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C# code
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation



Qualification & experience

  • Matric
  • IT related Diploma or Degree – Essential orRelevant Microsoft Certification


Knowledge and skills


  • Minimum 4 years working experience in both Web and Desktop development environments (front end and back end)
  • 3+ years of strong experience primarily working with .NET stack
    • Visual Studio
    • Windows Services
    • Windows Forms
    • MVC etc.
    • ASP.Net MVC in VB.NET
    • Understanding of WCF and WPF
    • C# .Net proficiency, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems and concurrency patterns
    • Windows Services
    • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQUERY
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or above
    • NUnit, MSUnit
  • Strong working knowledge of 3.5 and 4.0 .Net framework
  • Detailed understanding of N-Tier Development
  • Strong understanding of the different service protocols including HTTP, HTTPS, XML, WSDL, SOAP



  • Crystal Reports
  • Experience working in the Insurance industry
  • Experience developing using Agile influences
  • Familiar with most common design patterns
  • Experience with source control systems such as VSS, TFS etc.
  • Mobile development – Xamarin/PhoneGap/Cordova (using JavaScript)
  • Knowledge of web server configuration
  • Experience with code deployments to environments
  • System design, planning and maintenance exposure
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
  • Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
  • Skill for writing reusable C# libraries
  • Writing clean, readable C# code
  • Understanding fundamental design principles behind scalable applications
  • Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
  • Familiarity with continuous integration
  • Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to quickly learn new application systems and technologies
