Citrix 3rd Level Engineer | IT Recruitment

Role Purpose:

  • This role is positioned in our End User Application Team, within Infrastructure and Operations environment and will be reporting to the Line Manager.
  • The environment is comprised of a multi-site, multi-cloud deployment utilizing PVS and Citrix Cloud which is serving the internal business units either by utilizing hosted shared desktops, published applications or virtual desktops hosted on-prem and in cloud providers.
  • Services utilized in the deployment also includes NetScalar configurations as well as the integration of MFA technologies.

 

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Matric certificate
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in a similar role
  • Manage and support NetScaler, XenApp, XenDesktop, and Storefront
  • Manage and support Citrix Cloud Deployments
  • Manage Citrix application builds, release cycles, patching and test schedules
  • Experience in designing, deploying and supporting large-scale Citrix environments using XenApp, XenDesktop, Storefront, PVS, NetScaler and Citrix Receiver
  • Experience in implementing Citrix performance, optimization, scalability, security, high-availability, monitoring, printing, connectivity and group policy.
  • Provision Citrix servers as needed
  • Perform firmware, hardware, and OS upgrades, and required patch management
  • Participate in technical support for end-users – via various methods such as remote tools, email, phone and sometimes a site visit
  • Experience with Vmware, XenServer, Hyper-V or other server virtualization technologies
  • Knowledge of SLA’s
  • Knowledge of Office 365
  • Experienced with multiple hardware platforms and operating systems
  • Flexible to work longer hours when required
  • Own transport

Must be in possession of at least two of the following certifications / qualifications:

  • Citrix CCA-V
  • Citrix CCP-V
  • Citrix CC-VAD-CC
  • Citrix CCE-V
  • MCP
  • MCSA
  • MCSE
  • MCITP

 

Responsibilities and work output:

  • Administration and troubleshooting of Citrix components, including StoreFront, Director, PVS, WEM, Licensing, Cloud, NetScalar.
  • Administration and troubleshooting of various 3rd party applications related to the uptime of the Citrix Environment.
  • Experience in designing, deploying and supporting large-scale Citrix environments using XenApp, XenDesktop, Storefront, PVS, NetScaler and Citrix Receiver.
  • Experience in implementing Citrix performance, optimization, scalability, security, high-availability, monitoring, printing, connectivity and group policy.
  • Maintain Citrix infrastructure to ensure minimal service disruption and the efficient running business systems, by adhering to ITIL foundation principles or equivalent documented procedures.
  • Must be well traversed in Microsoft based platforms and operating systems.
  • Resolve incidents and fulfil service requests using a service management ticket tool and change management processes.
  • Provide level 3 support for core Windows roles and features.
  • Maintain, enhance and develop server systems.
  • System and application installation and configuration.
  • Ensuring that response times are kept within the parameters set in the SLA, including proactive problem identification and resolution.
  • Provide input into the development of IT processes and policies.
